Restoring Excellence Inaugural Continuum - Restoring Excellence

After Graduation Your REAL Education Begins!

(It's true though isn't it?)

Learning never stops. Pretty much everyone knows this. But where should you start? And what comes next? Do you ever wish someone would make that decision simple?

Our goal is to bring some cohesion to continuing dental education

Knowing where to start, and which direction to take -- when, is frustrating. It can take many years and many missteps before dental professionals are satisfied with their direction.

Restoring Excellence merges four thorough courses in a logical sequence that brings many facets of dentistry into unity. Each module deals with important aspects of dental skill which blend seamlessly together.

This Continuum sequence of modules is for dental professionals who would like a well rounded skill set and the confidence to tackle anything from single tooth dentistry to full arch dentistry - and anything in between.

One thorough CONTINUUM

Covering FOUR Crucial Topics over a 24 month time frame

Provides an ideal sequence of learning

Two day lecture + Two day Hands-On per Module

1. Anterior Dentistry - August 5 - 8, 2017

2. Posterior Quadrant Dentistry - November 4 - 7, 2017

3. Full Arch Dentistry: Module 3- March 3 - 6, 2018

4. Soft Tissue Grafting - June 2 - 5, 2018

Dr Lincoln Harris says:

“Every practicing dentist I’ve spoken with agrees that our university grad skillset barely scratched the surface of what we need to know to do high end dentistry.

So the importance of continuing education is a no brainer.

But isn’t it frustrating trying to find an ideal sequence of continuing education subjects? – It was for me. It’s actually really hard to prioritize all the possible topics, isn’t it?

So after years of learning the hard way myself, I have developed the Continuum to pave the way for others. For dentists that want to take their dentistry to the next level. (And then another level above that.)

We have to begin with treatment planning. No great dentistry is ever accomplished without it.

We find that our patients often value aesthetics above all, so our Continuum tackles Anterior Dentistry next. However the mouth has to function as a whole so next we add Posterior Quadrant Dentistry to our toolbox.

With the skills that you have gained after the first two modules, you will be ready to venture into Full Arch and Exotic Dentures. And then Soft Tissue Grafting which is the frame of your artwork.”

We are excited to have Dr Angelo Lazaris as guest lecturer for Anterior Dentistry!

I earned my Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree with Honours in 1991 from the University of Sydney. Since graduating, I have completed a number of post-graduate courses and educational programmes, both in Australia and overseas, furthering my knowledge and experience in the fields of Cosmetic Dentistry, Dental Implants and Complex Restorative Dentistry, which are areas of special interest for my practice. I have extensive knowledge of adhesive dentistry and contemporary restorative materials and protocols including aesthetic smile analysis and design and have developed my own digital smile design protocols and workflows.

In 2014, I graduated from Kings College London Dental School’s Post Graduate Masters in Aesthetic Dentistry program with a Distinction Average, making me one of the first dentists in Australia with this qualification. My dissertation topic was “contemporary restorative management of tooth surface loss”

I teach and lecture extensively on aesthetic and contemporary restorative dentistry nationally and abroad and have been appointed as Honorary Lecturer for Kings College London, The University of Sydney, and the University of Witswatersland, South Africa, as well as being appointed as a clinical tutor for the PostGraduate Masters Program in Aesthetic Dentistry. I have been appointed as faculty and course director for aesthetic restorative dentistry for an international blended learning platform (ADE), and KOL for the Digital Smile Design group of Christian Coachman.

Posterior: Module 2

With Dr Lincoln Harris and Dr Pasquale Venuti

As we all know,  the workhorse of general dental practice, is treating toothache, caries, cracks and fracture, predominantly in posterior teeth.

You will be amazed at how much your efficiency increases by using the quadrant technique, because all the teeth that need treating in one entire quadrant, are done in the same appointment instead of treating single teeth over several visits.

The advantages are numerous.

  • Time-saving use of local anaesthetic in an entire area
  • Reduced setup time
  • Reduced infection control times
  • Greater comfort for the patient
  • More convenient scheduling for both patient and practice
  • Generates higher hourly rates for the dentist

In this course, Dr Lincoln Harris and Dr Pasquale Venuti will show you how to treat a quadrant of teeth efficiently, effectively and in a way that is practical, possible and profitable in general practice.

The course will consist of two parts. A two day lecture which is limited to eighty people. And a two day hands on limited to 20 people using manikins at ADA centre.

Full Arch Dentistry: Module 3

With Dr Lincoln Harris and Dr Basil Mizrahi

Don't learn the importance of the bite the hard (expensive) way!

Maintaining or giving your patient a new bite position is the foundation of rehabilitative work.

These days we often think of implants first. But there is a whole range of reasons why some people can't have them.

  • No money
  • No bone
  • Medical history is too complex

So we get these fortuitous opportunities to hone our old school skills:

  • Crown & Bridge work
  • Partial Dentures
  • Precision Dentures
  • Telescopic Dentures
  • Precision Dentures
  • Exotic Attachments

You will learn crucial techniques for maintaining the bite (on models) and several different ways to increase vertical dimension.

This course will give you the skills and understanding of workflow and principles that will allow you to do Full Mouth Rehab.

  • Treatment planning and sequencing a full mouth rehabilitation including dealing with increase of VDO. With a focus on progressively refining stages to improve predictability and longevity.
  • Temporaries and provisionals the key to success. Techniques, materials and protocols to improve the aesthetic and biomechanical outcomes of treatment
  • Managing full arch impressions techniques
  • Occlusal records including bite registration records, 3D transfer of the position of the maxillary cast onto the articulator, occlusal verification jigs. Techniques will be shown to refine and ensure ensure precise correlation between the articulator and the mouth allowing for improved precision of the final occlusal outcome.
